This development by Niche Design & Construction was designed in conjunction with the architectural team at Figure & Ground, this 210 sq/m home is situated on a large 1000 sq/m suburban section.
We wanted to create a home that was warm in winter and cool in summer, so we chose to use above standard framing and insulation, with thermally broken aluminium joinery. With beautiful mountainous views surrounding the site, it was important to capture these while retaining some respite from the heat. The living areas are all north-facing, so deep recessed windows were specified to assist with diffusing the suns glare.
The interiors were all designed and specified by Amy. Internally, the Rosenveld Kidson Truwood cladding continues from the exterior into the living pavilion gable ceiling and through to a feature wall in the master bedroom.
